2017 - New Yard and New Post

Hello! I’m back.
It’s been about two years, so sorry. Hope you weren’t holding your breath for the next installment, that can’t be pretty. Here is the biggest thing that has taken place in our little universe since I have been away. We renovated the front yard! It is spectacular. It is now a place to entertain, relax and live our lives in the warm California sun. All of this was made possible by the great people at Finnamex Landscape. You may remember their beautiful showplace event space where Terry and I were married.

This is our house in Cypress CA as it looked before we started work on the yard.

This is the view from the front door while the city was replacing telephone poles on our street last year.

You may notice that most of the pictures are in overcast light because from the moment the work started California has had the wettest year in a very long time, the drought is all but over in large parts of the state, and that does not make for optimal construction environments. Finnamex Landscape worked very hard to keep the mess to a minimum (so much mud appears when water is added to freshly tilled dirt ... who knew!? hahahaha) and kept the pace going as fast as the weather would allow.

We had this cool port-a-potty in front of our house for about four months and many of our neighbors were caught coming out of it. Hahahahaaa!

This is what our front yard looks like now … wow!

Fresh rosemary any day I want it! I have already made rosemary pork chops and rosemary sourdough is next on the list.

This is the same view as the first picture of our yard. I'm still so surprised at the amount of space we had just sitting out there covered in weeds.

Can't get enough of these scones we put on the garage, so simple but so chic.

We also had some improvements made to the back yard. We now have a lush manicured pool area.

This summer is going to be a fun one with our new yard and sunny days ahead.  Talk to you later!

Summer 2015

Summer 2015

Oh my goodness I am the worst blogger on the planet. I can’t seem to get anything done within a reasonable amount of time anymore. I have been taking pictures, actually getting some of them edited and I now have a few spare minutes (the only good thing about teething, my little man is sleeping a bit more) and I am going to post as much summer fun as I can.

First to kick off the summer we celebrated the graduation of two friends April and Genevieve from college with a Redneck Party, no need to celebrate too seriously since they were so serious about finishing this accomplishment.

Next Terry, Allison, William, Tim and I were lucky to go to Disneyland for the start of the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration. There is a brand new updated Electrical parade and a whole new fireworks show. The kids were mesmerized and I am always so happy at Disneyland.

Then we showered Katie and Mike with love and presents for the new little baby coming their way. Friends from Big Bear, Palm Springs, Orange County and Riverside County came to celebrate with the happy couple. Noelle, Kathy, Zaira and Sarah used their creative talents and made the Little Monster theme come to life.

Update: They welcomed their little (9lbs 10 oz) baby boy, Daniel James, on August 26th.

At the end of July Lake Havasu City called and we answered with giant sighs of contentment. Blue water, red sand and white wispy clouds welcomed us to the burning desert. I will always love it out there. Every time I go my love affair with it’s beauty just deepens.

Every August the circus comes to town and we always go to enjoy it. I love the performing animals and acrobats but I think my favorite of all is the human cannonball. I just love it.

Throughout the entire summer the kids got to hang out with their cousins. Endless summer days at the beach, where little toes and belly buttons browned in the California sun. The boys also started football this summer and we went to a couple of scrimmages. My kids enjoyed running up and down next to the field with their toes in the grass.

On the last weekend of summer Disneyland had their annual employee event Little Monsters to celebrate Halloween. We were lucky enough to attend, again, with Uncle Tim! Allison loves going and I just love watching her parade around the park in her costumes.

Today is September 22, 2015 and it is the last day of summer, tomorrow will be the start of autumn and I hope cooler weather. Thank you to everyone for a fun and lazy summer, my most favorite kind.
