Together We Make A Family
This year we went to Oceanside for some family fun in the
sun. June gloom was in full effect until the last full week of June 2015, for
seven glorious days it was warm and sunny. Aside from the great weather …
I was going to talk A LOT about the weather because it felt
like such a tropical vacation while I was in Oceanside but really that’s not fun to read about. Allison feels the same way. She just asked me, “Mom.
Who do you want trapped, you or me?”
I said, “Me!” Now a turtle and an owl have me secured to my
chair with a plastic link chain.
“Mom now you can’t get me, you can’t listen, you are not in
the living room and then … and then … don’t
go in the bathroom, ok?”
So what should I take from this exchange? Live for the moment,
they are what make family time fun. Each moment can be brought out later and
enjoyed. And apparently going to the bathroom is always off limits.
1. Sunset
over the harbor while eating fish and chips. Just like the day after I got
married, another great memory.
2. Water
babies jumping in the pool and then running to the hot tub.
3. Roasting
giant marshmallows on the beach.
4. Walking
up and down the pier, just to get a milkshake.
5. Breakfast
Club Diner with the ladies and one little squawking gentleman.
6. Buying
hats, specialty salts and lumpia at the Farmer Market in the morning and then
eating an international selection of foods at the Sunset Market.
7. Looking
for fish near the Jolly Roger restaurant while celebrating my Grandparents 50th
wedding anniversary.
