Goodbye TWC

On February 6th 2015 I posted this on Facebook,
“After 18 1/2 years of employment with Time Warner Cable I am saying goodbye. I was the luckiest of girls getting an internship right out of high school, no fast food or retail just bringing entertainment to the masses. I am again the luckiest of girls, I get to stay home with my babies. Now it's time for me to find new ways to fill up my days. So to all of my Time Warner friends, thank you for the many years of fun and camaraderie.”

I am now no longer employed; I am a Stay At Home Mom. Right now I have set up a makeshift desk in the kitchen, my kids are playing in the living room and we are watching The Chew. Allison just came up to me and said, “I LUB you Mama.” William is rolling on the floor talking and chewing on a stuffed monkey. I am in heaven, change is usually a scary thing for me and I would be lying if I said this wasn’t a bit scary but I have these two kids and they are filling up my days just fine. I have been employed since I was 15 when I was hired as a file clerk at Dr. Gaffney’s Ophthalmologists office. I worked there through high school earning enough money to put gas in my car and hang out with my friends.  Then during my senior year a school counselor came in and asked if anyone wanted an internship opportunity for the summer at Time Warner Cable. I signed up and two weeks after graduating I had a job and the rest is really history. If I had not taken that internship my life would be completely different, this cute little girl making jokes next to me would not be here. I met Terry at work, good thing we had company barbecues at that time. He was pretty cute during the hula hoop contest.

Here are the reasons I will always be thankful for working at TWC!

We went to Big Bear and stayed in our friend's cabin for a weekend, it was the first time the kids got to play in the snow. There were 12 people snuggled into a two bedroom one bath cabin and it was great. At six in the morning Jason woke everyone up to watch the snow fall, there was a mad dash for clothes and snow boots and then everyone was outside. We also went to go sledding but by the time we found a good spot all of the kids were cold and tired. Whiskey the husky puppy that came with us enjoyed it though.

We just love to celebrate birthdays, here are some funny moments from Allison's third birthday.

Obachan turned 89 this year! My Sister, Mom and I brought Sunday dinner to her house just like we used to when we were younger.

My baby sister Julie celebrated her birthday on February 15th  with dinner at El Torito and a cake from Paris Baguette, yummo!

Here are a few things that we are doing around the house to fill our days.

Jason Tracy made this cool new back plash for the stove.

Olaf pancakes!

Compound butter for our very first roast chicken.

Buttered bird

Aromatics and herbs.

Well it has taken me all day to write that little bit and get all of my photos together so I think I will post this now but I am going to start writing again, I’ll just have to find a better time to focus.

Talk to you all soon. Jenn
