June: All Rolled Up Into One

June: All Rolled Up Into One

I am such a slacker on this blog thing! Since my last report we have had another pool party, gone to a family BBQ, celebrated my nephew’s birthday, celebrated Father’s day, taken a vacation to Angels Camp CA with my extended family and celebrated the Fourth of July, and guess how many pictures I have of these events? Not many. So here are a few of the pictures and hopefully a fun narrative of all the fun that we had in June that will bring this sad showing to life.

Terry and I have a pool at our house and with the onset of summer we have had about five different pool days and each was a lovely success, if I do say so myself. The pool looks great, thanks to Terry and his diligent efforts to keep the constant barrage of leaves out of the water. Sadly I do not have any more pictures of the pool itself but look at this cute baby enjoying time next to the pool and maybe it will feel like the same thing.

For my friend Noelle’s “Family and Friends All-American BBQ and Picnic” (phew! That is s title is it not?) I decided to make Apple Pie because what is more American than Apple Pie? I am a messy baker but I do clean up afterwards and they turned out beautifully. We had a great time at the party and stayed THE WHOLE TIME, which is pretty good since I am pregnant and have a two year old. It was so nice to watch Allison play with all of the kids and get a chance to relax and enjoy some adult company. Don’t get me wrong I spend all week with adults at work but let’s be honest work is not a fun relaxing place for adults.

Xander is now six years old! He is such a fun kid. We went to the Storytellers Café in the Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort. It was full of yummy food and happy kids. There is an all you can eat ice cream bar … Hello!

Happy Father’s Day! I should have some sort of meaningful platitude to say about my Husband or Father but really I just like hanging out with these men that love me and love my children. And don’t forget “Uncle Bobert”! Allison just loves hijacking her Uncle and dragging him around to different places wherever we go.

What can I say about Angels Camp CA? There are different places to visit like the Calavaras Big Tree State Park and the Railtown 1897 State Park but really these were all just fun and beautiful backdrops to spending time with my extended family. The trips are always too short and tons of fun. P.S. Uncle Bobert Allison says “Thank You” for carrying her on the last leg of the Big Tree walk because she might still be in the wilderness if it wasn’t for your help.

This is where Barbara bowled a strike. Woo Hoo!

Panning for gold in gold country!

Stink face! I always ask for the stink face and she does it. Hahahaha.

Then we come to the Fourth of July and the previous sentiment is also true for this Holiday. We eat, have a chili competition and watch fireworks but really that is just the setting for having goofy fun with friends. I had a great time and went home happy.

Oh and one more thing in in three days Terry, Allison and I are flying to South Carolina to attend Terry’s brother’s wedding. I have never been that far east before, the furthest I have been was Michigan when I was five or six. This is going to be great! I get to stick my foot into the Atlantic Ocean!

Well, since I have borrowed some pictures from friends who did take pictures at different events this post has turned into a veritable picture bonanza! So I hope you have enjoyed it.

Just a little kid fun from Angels Camp.

Talk to you later after I have dipped my toes in a new ocean!
