Summer is here!

Summer is here!

Right now … Baseball for my nephews is over but Allison and I got to see the first and last games of the season. Gabriel’s team the Giants won the Championship this year! Gabriel made a game changing catch in the middle of the game to turn things around. The team rallied and won by one run in the last inning. It was an exciting game full of the back and forth nail biting excitement that only baseball can produce. Congratulations Giants!
This was the first year of baseball for Xander and just look at that form! No longer does he have to run up and down the sidelines wanting to play; he had his own Dodgers uniform, baseball bag, practices to go to and games to win. Congratulations Xander!

This was RIGHT before he caught the ball! See how everyone is looking up? He picked it right out of the air.

Playing catch with uncle Robert. Some day it might be softball time!

Oh yeah! Catch is fun!

Right now … Allison, Terry and I will be camping for one night only at Crystal Cove State Park Moro Campground in Laguna Beach. The site is on the cliff just east of Coast Highway overlooking the ocean. I can hardly wait for my day of work to end so that we can get the fun started. I will take plenty of pictures for the next blog!

Right now … last weekend was Memorial Day and we had a small barbeque with family. Allie got to play with her cousin Lily; they cracked each other up and thoroughly entertained the adults. Mike brought his little Fry Daddy and cooked up fresh caught fish tacos while Terry grilled steak and corn. We had a great time catching up.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend! Summer is here! Go out and enjoy it.

Best Day Ever

Best Day Ever
Sing! Sing! Sing! “It’s the best day ever! It’s the best day ever!”  Spongebob Squarepants. The little yellow sponge is a genius. I sang that song all weekend, even though both days were vastly different but so enjoyable. All last week Terry and I systematically cleaned the house, moving from room to room and cleaning everything from top to bottom. As I cleared clutter, scoured floors and made mirrors shine I felt more and more satisfied. It shouldn’t matter so much but a clean house is really important to me. I know that paying attention to Allie, loving her and being present for her is most important but a clean, sparkling house makes my soul happy. On Saturday we had a Game Night and Taco Bar potluck. We stuffed ourselves silly and then played a silly game based on twitter comments; it was totally strange and totally enjoyable. The coolest thing about that day was my little girl, she enjoyed every moment of the party. At 16 months she left my side and showed the other little girls her room and her toys. She ran around and around the house sharing her stuff and just enjoying the house crammed with people. When the party was over and everyone left she curled up next to me on the couch and fell asleep. She had a sweet happy smile and made little contented snoring noises. It was a very good day. Then onto day two, Sunday, the day I stayed in my jammies ALL DAY LONG. It was heavenly. I watched movies all day long, ate leftovers from the taco bar and was deliciously lazy. Both of these days were, as my little yellow friend so aptly stated, “THE BEST DAY EVER!”

She jumped right into his lap from mine! She's such a flirt.

Right Now … my house is still pretty clean. All I need to do is clean the floors and we are all set for round two of entertaining weekends.
Right now … I just love watching The Chew. Allie and I come home and before Terry gets home we goof around the living room watching our DVR. I say, “Allie, should we make that for dinner? Do we have the ingredients?” and she says, “Yeah! Blah blahdljdsdjdfsjlkfdj! HAHAHA!” Clinton Kelly makes us laugh.
Right now … Allison loves helping me out in the kitchen; cleaning, cooking and playing a loud melody on the pots and pans. When dinner is ready she is very proud to eat our creations.

She just loves this octopus! Thank you April, Mike and Riley.

Cauliflower soup, yum!

Right now … Allison loves meeting new family and making friends. She learned peek-a-boo and has continued to cover her face and yell “PEEK PEEK PEEK!”

Right now … Allison is falling in love with Disneyland just like her Mom. We were lucky enough to accompany Tim to a Cast Member exclusive preview of Mickey Mouse and the Magical Map, a new stage show starting this weekend at Disneyland. We could not take pictures because it was a preview silly! So we could not document the utter thrill and excitement on Allison’s face when the music sprang up and the dancers rushed out on stage. She bounced, yelled, laughed, pointed and danced for the entire 20 minute show. She was enchanted by everything. After the show was over she continued to bounce with excitement and then we road Alice in Wonderland, she sat all by herself on the seat and very seriously watched and listened to the amusements as we rolled past on a yellow caterpillar. Once we exited the ride she started crying and pointing back to the caterpillar, yes she wanted to continue down that rabbit hole for a little while longer. My baby is growing up and I am so excited that we will get to experience Disneyland together.

Enjoy your weekend everybody! Have “THE BEST DAY EVER!”

All In One Day

All In One Day
The Saturday before Mother’s Day I scheduled three different things to do, since they were all at different times during the day it seemed a logical solution. Remind me next time I am contemplating multiple events in one day that maybe two is the maximum. But last Saturday I decided that three was an ok number so at 5:30am Terry, Allie and I woke up took showers and got on the road. First we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house Allie got to hang out with them going to the car wash and little league games to cheer on her cousins while Terry and I went to the Color Run at the Irvine Great Park. The day was beautifully overcast, just the way I like it when I go for a walk. When we finally parked; there were road closures, construction areas and only on entrance, it was time to get the race started. Terry and Dennis ran while the J-Walkers skipped along throwing colored corn starch at each other. The J-Walkers included Jen and Jenn (J-Walkers get it? Hahahaha), April, Kim, Karen and sometime Tommy; he ran back and forth between his entire Color Me Clique group. April was our designated color fairy, she floated it on heads, butts and teeth! Check out the blue mustache!

After running home to get a shower (that stuff was messy!) we swooped up Allie and went to celebrate the life of Floyd Miller with the Miller clan. Joy, Mike C., April, Mike McD., Riley, Gay, Tabitha, Tim, Terry, Allie and I enjoyed homemade turkey sandwiches, Brussels sprouts, pasta salad and lots of crunchy munchy veggie and cracker snacks. Then we all shared in a moving celebratory ritual of planting a tree to commemorate the life of a man we all loved. The lavender bush that was planted for Jane Miller just two short years ago waved at us in the breeze nodding approval at the proceedings.

As the afternoon faded to early evening bringing with it a cooler twilight we ended our day at a baby shower. Elisa and Dan will soon be welcoming their daughter to the world. Evan will be a Big brother soon and buying pretty little baby clothes is just something that I LOVE doing. From the looks of all the bags filled with tiny pretty things my friends feel the same way. All of our kids (wink! wink!) ran around Noelle’s backyard bouncing on the jumper, flying on the trampoline and shooting the air rifle at gophers!

After this whirlwind day I am so very happy to have this family of people that I get to spend my life with, Thank you.
